Right I'm confused. So I'd say from the top of my head, being very stereotypical that a goth has black hair, thick black eyeliner, wears leather and chains and anything ripped and wears those big chunky knee high boots, yes? So in no way shape or form (personally), do I fit into that category. Agreed. So why have 2 people now described my style as goth?

It came from 2 different boys on 2 different occasions and 2 completely different conversations. Like these boys don't know each other at all. They weren't unstylish boys, like they had a sense of style to be fair to them.

I was so salty about these comments that I took so Twitter and did a poll to of course get confirmation from friends and strangers to how I should feel about this issue...

Even my friend Amber, who is an actual goth, we even call her Guff the Goth, (like the amazing elaborate make-up, thick eyeliner, wearing and absolutely rocking fishnets and big chunky boots) was fuming and it's kinda become a running joke now to call me a goth.

I really was unsure whether to take it as a compliment or not due to the things you think of when you first hear the word- being the gothic style I mentioned at the start of my post. Like compare me and Amber, there are just no similarities or correlations anywhere lmao🤣🤣

But the more I thought about it the less salty/ shocked I was. Although these boys dress nicely themselves I don't think they have the best grasp on fashion as much as people who share the same style as me, do. The fashion I'd describe myself having is quite broad and mixes a lot of different styles. Including a gothy grungey modern twist on 'goth' how we know it, mixed with the girly girl 90's style and also incorporating streetwear chav into the mix! Wearing cargos/ Dickies with big jumpers/ hoodies and signature British brands too. It isn't mainstream, you won't see those 15 year old girls who wear skinny jeans, Nike AF1's and a pink Ellesse Puffa coats wearing Juicy Tracksuits or wearing cargos with a bustier top.

...So I'm kinda thinking that the 'gothic-ish' element to my style is where those boys got the idea from.

It kinda got me thinking ...

Why did I care so much about what those boys defined my style as? Why did I feel the need to go to Twitter about it and get peoples opinions?

Normally I am the sort of person that doesn't give a shit about what people think of me especially when it comes to clothes. If I like something I'll buy it because I like it not because I'm worried that others won't or that it's a bit different to what others are wearing.

I think with this situation I was so bothered though because when I heard the word 'goth' this...

came into my head at first. And yes she is beautiful in her own way I just don't look like that. Like I was thinking all the money I've spent on clothes to follow the style I want to follow and someones called me a goth.

Mate put me in the bin.

But no, it was just Mia Perry being overreactive and un-rational as usual.
