The Big Apple, The City that Never Sleeps, the Centre of the Universe! I now only have a week to wait until the plane lands down in JFK airport and I will have stepped foot in the famous city! I've waited so long for this trip, my family have always wanted to go but things just kept getting in the way, and now, it's finally happening.

Normally, my idea of a holiday is pure relaxation; from the minute you get onto the plane (apart from enduring turbulence) to the minute the coach picks you up to take you to you inbound flight. But I know this holiday is going to be very different. Henry has told us to not treat this trip as a holiday, but as a research trip.

Being in the lobby for 9am every morning instead of lazing in bed until you miss breakfast, walking through one of the busiest cities in the world dodging New Yorkers who have places to be instead of strolling across a beautiful beach with the beautiful sea breeze flowing through your hair and trying to sleep whilst police sirens ring and the city carries on below you instead of enjoying a peaceful uninterrupted slumber still able to feel the heat of the day.

Despite the lack of rest and relaxation a normal holiday brings I haven't been this excited to go away since I went to DisneyWorld a few years ago. I've got my travel money credit card ready with nearly $1000 loaded up onto it, I've just done a Prettylittlething order to make sure I've got a comfy, yet chic airport outfit and I've got some great outfits to choose from in one of the fashion capitals of the world.

Some of the things I'm most excited for...

- Going to the MET museum

After keeping up with the themes and looks celebrities either smash or slaughter for the past few years I cannot wait to see the place where the money raised goes!

- Going to some of the designer flagships

Some of the stores I'm most excited for are Louis Vuitton (now that Virgil is artistic director), Juicy Couture as it's one of my favourite brands but we don't have a store in the UK anymore and the Dior store purely to experience the beauty of Dior.

- Seeing the cities famous landmarks

I can't go to New York without going up the Empire State, or seeing the Statue of Liberty or doing a tour of the city itself. I'm sure everywhere I walk will be an amazing experience but I'm so excited to do the typical tourist things.

-Visiting Art Galleries

Every new city/ country I go to I always try and visit different art galleries and museums. I come from an art background when I went to school and college so it's been part of my life for years to visit galleries. It isn't a chore for me it brings so much enjoyment. Some galleries I'm excited for are the Museum of Modern Art, The Guggenheim and The New Museum.

I will check in, in about 2 week when the trip will sadly be over and it'll be back to reality :(
