Today we were set the task of creating 3 different mood-boards, on 3 different things. One for new and fresh things happening in fragrance, one to focus on a fragrance favourite of yours and then one on one of the themes that have been set to pick from for brief 4.
I really enjoyed this task because it was a chance to be creative, and for me to try software that I'm not comfortable with. We were told to use InDesign to make our mood-boards, I haven't really used InDesign before and wasn't confident with it at all, as you can probably tell from the first mood-board. Once I got used to it I think the mood-boards heightened in quality.

Mood-board 1: What is new in fragrance?
So I first off created a mind-map on things I found on what is currently happening in fragrance. I didn't want to go straight into the mood-board and focus on one thing. Exploring different topics firstly was a good idea so that I had things to choose from. This also gave me a bit more breadth on things currently happening in the fragrance industry.
I decided to go with something that was personal to me and something that would link with one of my later mood- boards. 'Scents to wear at festivals' I found this from Sniph's blog. Sniph is a company Rose told us about that you can subscribe to and monthly you will receive niche perfumes in a sample size.
My mood- board looks quite basic, this is because I was just trying to get used to InDesign and this mood-board took me so long to make and you cant even tell.
I think the images I chose reflect exactly what I waned to say with this board, the colours and tones go really well together because I stuck to the colours that are in the main 2 images.

Mood-board 2: My Perfume Favourite
Paco Rabanne: PaCollection
I much prefer this mood-board compared to the first one. It is definitely more my style of design and it just looks way more interesting. With intriguing imagery and a beautiful colour palette which I took from the background image. I used Dazed to find lot of the imagery because I knew that google images would just be way to boring, Dazed have a massive backlog of beautiful and interesting images when you search through their different tags.
Again, I created a mind-map so that I could create the mood-board confidently with knowledge already on the brand and the fragrance. So that when creating the mood-board I could just focus on finding really interesting and unique imagery.

Mood-board 3: A Theme
'My Generation'
For this mood-board we had to pick one of the themes that we have been given for this project. I chose the theme 'my generation', I chose this because it is a subject I am passionate about and have a lot of knowledge on. Plus it linked to my first mood-board where I talked about festival fragrance. Of course the generation I'm part of don't just care abut festivals but I think the topic is so broad it would be hard to show clearly, and neatly all of these things on one mood-board.
Including things like photography and fashion which links back to the course and things I like myself it makes it a bit more personal and I'm excited to see where/ if I take this theme forward into the project, where it goes.
